Landlord-Tenant

REPRESENTATIVE CASES

  • Buy out and habitability issues. Tenant claimed damages against landlord for bed bug infestation, inadequate security, retaliation for engaging in protected activity and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Settled.


  • Tenants claimed the landlord engaged in a fraudulent owner-move in eviction in violation of the San Francisco Rent Control Ordinance and that his dominant purpose was to convert the property into condominiums and not to occupy the unit as his principal place of residence for the minimum time period mandated by the code. Settled.


  • Claims by multiple tenants of residential building against landlord for violations of the Ellis Act and 37.10 of the San Francisco Rent Ordinance seeking treble damages and attorneys fees. Settled.
